Seamless Titanium Pipe Production Process
- Raw Material Preparation: High-purity sponge titanium is extracted from titanium concentrate through beneficiation, chlorination, and reduction processes, and then smelted into titanium ingots with uniform composition and low impurity content through multiple times of vacuum arc furnace smelting.
- Piercing and Billet Making: After heating the titanium ingot, a hollow titanium blank pipe is made by piercing with a piercing machine to prepare for subsequent rolling.
- Cold Rolling/Cold Drawing: The titanium blank pipe is processed through multiple passes by a cold rolling mill or cold drawing machine, and the outer diameter and wall thickness are gradually and precisely controlled to the target size to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Vacuum Annealing: Put the cold-rolled/cold-drawn titanium pipe into a vacuum annealing furnace, and treat it at a specific temperature and holding time to eliminate internal processing stress and improve material toughness, plasticity and corrosion resistance.
- Finishing Processing: Through straightening, cutting, surface treatment (pickling, polishing, etc.), non-destructive testing (ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing, etc.) steps, the finished seamless titanium pipe with precise dimensions and qualified surface is obtained, with material inspection report and quality certificate attached.
Welded Titanium Pipe Production Process
- Raw Material Preparation: Select qualified titanium plates as raw materials, and perform cutting and rolling to make tubular blanks.
- Welding Forming: Adopt precision welding processes such as plasma arc welding or tungsten inert gas welding to weld the rolled tubular blanks to ensure firm welds and no defects; strictly control the protective atmosphere during welding to prevent titanium from being oxidized.
- Subsequent Processing: The welded titanium pipe is optimized for dimensional accuracy and surface quality through cold rolling, straightening and other processes, and re-annealing treatment is performed if necessary.
- Finishing and Packaging: Cut, clean the surface, and perform non-destructive testing (weld inspection, wall thickness inspection, etc.) on the titanium pipe, then package it, with material inspection report and quality certificate attached.
